Bookkeeper

JOB SUMMARY

Bookkeeper/Accountant primary responsibility is to review the details of various credit card transactions, as well as other spending, and determine whether they are business-related or personal expenses. The Bookkeeper/Accountant will ensure accurate tracking of expenses. Additionally, this position will assist with other analytical bookkeeping needs.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Review and analyze the details of various family and personal credit card transactions and other spending to determine if they are business-related or personal expenses.
  2. Collaborate with family members to ask appropriate questions regarding expenses and clarify whether they are business or personal in nature.
  3. Ensure accurate tracking of business expenses and personal expenses, maintaining a clear distinction between the two.
  4. Process and track reimbursement requests for business expenses incurred by family members.
  5. Assist with other analytical bookkeeping needs of the family, such as budgeting, financial analysis, and forecasting.
  6. Maintain organized and up-to-date financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting principles and regulations.
  7. Generate financial reports and statements as required by the family members or management.
  8. Performs all other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of [number of years] years of experience as a bookkeeper or accountant, preferably in a family-owned business or small business setting.
  2. Proficiency in bookkeeping software and tools, such as QuickBooks or Xero.
  3. Excellent knowledge of accounting principles and practices.
  4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  5. Attention to detail and accuracy in financial record-keeping.
  6. Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with family members and clarify expense details.
  7. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  8. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance requirements is a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    1. Primarily remote work.
    2. Frequently (50%+ of time) required to walk and talk or hear.
    3. Frequently (50%+ of time) required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
    4. Occasionally (less than 25% of time) lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
    5. Frequently (50%+ of time) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
    6. Occasionally (less than 25% of time) exposed to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
