Position Description – Loss Prevention Specialist

Reports to: Strategic Operations Manager

JOB SUMMARY

The Loss Prevention Specialist is responsible for identifying and preventing losses/thefts at GDH. This position monitors surveillance cameras and assists in creating theft prevention plans and policies. Additionally, they monitor the workplace to assess safety issues/concerns.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Organizational Management

1. Reports suspected internal, external, and/or vendor Loss.

2. Monitor processes to reduce property or financial losses.

3. Communicate incident details to appropriate personnel.

4. Maintain documentation or reports on security-related incidents or investigations.

5. Recommend improvements to increase safety and reduce risks.

6. Train personnel in loss prevention activities.

7. Coordinate with risk management, human resources, and other departments to assist in company programs, investigations, and training.

8. Perform covert surveillance of areas susceptible to loss, such as loading docks, distribution centers, or warehouses.

9. Investigate delivery shortages to determine if items were loaded and did not return.

10. All other duties as assigned.

Technology

  1. Effectively uses office equipment (copiers, fax machines, scanners), a personal computer and Microsoft Office products: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Explorer. Efficiently uses operations management software, including VIP.

QUALIFICATIONS

  1. Minimum of high school diploma
  2. Minimum of one year of experience in Beverage Industry
  3. Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with inventory software. Prior use of VIP or similar software package preferred.
  4. Highly organized, detail oriented.
  5. Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check, MVR, and drug screen.

WORKING CONDITIONS / PHYSICAL DEMANDS

Constant (67 - 100% of time) required to walk and talk and hear.
