IT Intern - Milton, FL

Description

This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in information technology within the beverage distribution sector. The ideal candidate will be eager to learn, possess strong analytical skills, and have a passion for improving business processes.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist in the installation, configuration, and maintenance of computer hardware, software, and peripherals.
  • Provide technical support to employees by troubleshooting hardware and software issues.
  • Work support requests through the IT helpdesk platform.
  • Participate in system updates, backups, and regular maintenance tasks.
  • Support network administration tasks, including setting up user accounts and managing permissions.
  • Assist with IT inventory management and asset tracking.
  • Document IT processes, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
  • Collaborate with team members on IT projects, including system upgrades and new software/hardware rollouts.
  • Organize and maintain the server room, including cable management and hardware organization.
  • Assist with mobile device management, including device setups, reporting and auditing tasks.
  • Perform software deployment and patch management tasks.
  • Monitor and perform regular system audits and reporting.
  • Support endpoint security solutions and ensure proper configurations.
  • Participate in network troubleshooting and issue resolution.
  • Support cloud service administration (e.g., Microsoft 365) including account management.
  • Assist with data migration projects and file organization.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot peripheral devices such as printers, monitors and scanners.
  • Collaborate on IT security awareness initiatives and best practices.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Information Technology or related technology field.
  • GPA above 3.0
  • Must live or be able to relocate to the Milton, Florida area. No relocation assistance provided.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Strong Windows 11 and iOS platform knowledge and troubleshooting skillset.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Interest in the beverage industry is a plus!
  • Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, you must possess a valid driver’s license in your state of residence and auto insurance. Must be able to pass a background check.

  • Work effectively with internal and external individuals, including other professionals in the community.
  • Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media.
  • Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Effectively manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands

  • Occasionally required to stand; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel object, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently (50%+ of time) lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently (50%+ of time) Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision and depth perception.
  • Occasionally (less than 25% of time) exposed to moving mechanical equipment and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Additional Details

  • $18/hour, 25+ hours in office per week
  • Reports directly to Information Technology Manager
  • 6-month program
  • Flexible start date
